My name’s Tim Shey; I’m a designer and producer working in New York, and this is my personal site. It’s also a home for several hundred, maybe more than a thousand, pages of random stuff that have collected here over the years — since late 1997 — though many pages may be missing or lost due to my own distraction and ineptitude. The best way to navigate it currently is a Google search, as archives are not back up and running.

I’ve started a few companies. The first, Proteus, was an interactive design firm that became one of the first mobile content companies in the U.S. The most recent, Next New Networks, is working to launch a number of independent networks on the internet serving targeted communities. Think TV networks, but smaller, cheaper, more flexible, and hopefully more fun. Professional info’s here, and these days I mostly write about things related to my work on my company’s blog.
