So many great links on BoingBoing this week (several recycled from Kottke), we just have to recycle a few here for you:
- Schwarzenegger “Total Retard” T-Shirt
- Sterling: Ten Technologies That Deserve to Die
- iTunes playlist ideas
- Commodore 64 emulator for Nokia
Regarding that last link: I’ve played with Frodo and other C64 emulators before, but running it on a 3650 is particularly satisfying. I might owe my entire career to the C64 my parents scrimped to get me when I was 11 (thanks, Mom and Dad!), with which I wrote my first programs, designed my first games, and went online for the first time in 1985… it’ll be nice to see that blue screen blinking up at me again from the C64’s descendants, the wildly mutating mobile phones from which I make much of my living almost twenty years later. And finally, I can play G.I. Joe and Zork again, this time on the Metro.

10.03.2003: high hopes
Spent a grueling 23 hours in and around Chicago, consisting of one good business meeting, one so-so late night meal in Wicker Park, and a lot of getting stuck in glacial traffic…
10.06.2003: in with the new
Kids, everywhere.
OK, maybe not Zork… typing “DROP ALL BUT LAMP, SWORD, AND BRICK” on a nokia keypad is bound to be more trouble than it’s worth.
