Just last week on a trip to NY, I was sitting in Bryant Park using my laptop and wondering once again what it would take to get something like the Public Internet Project going in D.C., as previous attempts have fizzled out. Today, Sunil sends the latest: Open Park is “a new Washington D.C. non-profit organization founded to bring wireless Internet access to the public and the museum community on the National Mall.”
The Mall’s not the best access point for us downtown folks, so this will benefit visitors more than D.C. residents, but it’s still a great step.
Best place in D.C. for a Bryant Park style revival, with public WiFi: how about Malcolm X?
