Nate sends in this New York Times article about the Advantage, the “video-rock band” that plays covers of classic Nintendo game soundtracks. My first thought was wondering if these guys (aged 21-24) might be too young to have played the NES that much, but I guess they aren’t, not if I still remember Activision so well. They maybe do seem a little young to be feeling so nostalgic already, though. Says drummer Spencer Seim,
“It takes me back to the days of eating mac and cheese at a friend’s house and learning the games. Good times.”I say being 23’s not so bad, neither. Enjoy it, my man. As far as what Nate had to say about it: “People will get nostalgic about anything. I always hated when the music sped up — it was so, discouraging.”
