In 2011, YouTube acquired Next New Networks, and tasked us with scaling a creator program to support millions of YouTube partners worldwide, in collaboration with operations, partnerships, and marketing. We focused on four pillars to elevate and popularize channel creators: best practices, production support, funding, and promotion.
We began by codifying and popularizing the best practices of creating channels and developing your creative, audience, and brand, and ran workshops and programs around the world.
The iconic gold play button recognized achievement and our thanks, giving creators from Rosanna Pansino to Jimmy Fallon something to hang on their wall.
YouTube Spaces, our free, state of the art production studios / event, learning, and coworking spaces for creators, musicians, and producers of all types, brought YouTube into the physical world in Los Angeles, New York, London, Tokyo, and Rio.
